a 75.0 kg man and a 55.0 kg woman face each other on an ice rink. The woman pushes the man with a force of 85.0 N A. What is the man's acceleration? B. What is the woman's acceleration? C. Assuming no forces act to slow the people down, how far apart are they from each other after 2.5 seconds? D. What is the relative speed of the man from the woman's frame of reference?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f= ma\] we will use this formula to calculate the acceleration of the man. Make acceleration the subject of the formula \[a=f/m\] now input the values that you know; which are m=75.0 and f=85.0 a=85/75 a=1.13 N/Kg would be your answer for part a.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

we can apply the third law of Newton: \[\huge {m_1}{a_1} = {m_2}{a_2} = F\] where index \(1\) refers to the man, and index \(2\) refers to the woman, of course \(F=85\) N
