Your work for the other question seems to be correct. I did not make sure the answers though because I don't have a pen and paper next to me :\ However, for question 19, you need to find out the unit rate ($/pound) for both the carrots and the broccolis. So you would have: Carrot \[\frac{ $2.68 }{ 3.4 } = ? \] Broccoli \[\frac{ $2.53 }{ 2.8 } = ? \] Take the quotients and then find the difference.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.68x3.4= 9.112. 2.53x2.8= 7.084. 9.112-7.084= 2.028. the pound of broccoli cost $2.028 more that pound of carrots

Thanks mas6xavi for your help. but i think is 2.68 / 3.4 = 0.788. 2.53 / 2.8 = 0.903. then 0.903 - 0.788 = 0.1155

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if we have a ratio: x dollars, to y pounds then 1 pound = y pounds/y .... divide both by y x/y dollars, to y/y pounds, gives the cost of 1 pound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

amistre64. so 2.68x3.4=9.112. 2.53x2.8=7.084.then 9.112-7.084=2.028. answer =2.028
