OpenStudy (bbypanda16):
It wont let me respond to you in private messages. It says I can only respond if your my my fan. Ill try and help, but ill need a few ,ins. Okay?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
Okay I just fanned you. Okay. But remember I need this as quick as possible cause I have a family thing
pooja195 (pooja195):
ok

Is is perpendicular?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
@pooja195
pooja195 (pooja195):
Well if you isolated y in the 2nd equation you get
y=4x+5/8
pooja195 (pooja195):
What does this tell you?
pooja195 (pooja195):
HINT the slopes are opposites

Parallel?
pooja195 (pooja195):
They don't have the same slope one is pos while the other is neg.
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
So neither
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
@pooja195
pooja195 (pooja195):
good

For#1
\[\huge y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\]
where
m=slope
(x1,y1)
pooja195 (pooja195):
\[\huge~\rm~y-8=2(x-3)\]
isolate y
pooja195 (pooja195):
Need help ?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
Yes please
pooja195 (pooja195):
Start by distributing the 2
2 x X = 2x
2 x -3= ?

-6
pooja195 (pooja195):
good so
y-8=2x-6
now add 8 to both sides
-6+8=?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
2
pooja195 (pooja195):
good so the line that is parallel is
y=2x+2
pooja195 (pooja195):
Have you attempted #3?

I think it is missing some info
pooja195 (pooja195):
"pair"
theres only 1 equation...
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
oops sorry
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
pooja195 (pooja195):
First we need to isolate y
\[\huge~\rm~-2x+2x+10y=5+2x\]
\[\huge~\rm~10/10y=2x/10+5/10\]
\[\huge~\rm~y=1/5x+1/2\]

So compare this to the other equation and tell me what you think the answer is :)
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
How did you do that?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
@pooja195
pooja195 (pooja195):
The stpes are there i listed it so you can tell what i did.
pooja195 (pooja195):

I don't know
pooja195 (pooja195):
?
What don't you know?
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
How to do it... I'm sorry
pooja195 (pooja195):
No need to be sorry!
First we need to isolate y
\[\huge~\rm~-2x+2x+10y=5+2x\]
\[\huge~\rm~10/10y=2x/10+5/10\]
\[\huge~\rm~y=1/5x+1/2\]
pooja195 (pooja195):
See these steps?
this is serperated into part...
I already isolated y for you
You need to tell me if its perpendicular,parallel, or neither.

I honestly think perpendicular
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
But I also think that is wrong at the same time
pooja195 (pooja195):
Perpendicular is correct because they are just the opposite of each other
whenever a slope is opposite they are perpendicular
pooja195 (pooja195):
This changes the answer for #2 too
OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):
How? What do you mean, @pooja195 ?
