i got -2 as the remainder

Hey

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Note that we are dividing two polynomials for synthetic division. Here we have \[\frac{ (4x^4-5x^3+2x^2-x+5) }{ (x-2) }\]

okay so what i did was completely wrong?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

So the way we set it up as such |dw:1448756592677:dw| notice it's a +2 which we actually took from the denominator and the first term we just bring it down
