Anyone found posting content from Quizzes, Tests, and/or Exams will simply be suspended. Posting such content is a violation of both your school's Honor Code and of OpenStudy's Anti-Cheating Policy.
will we get in trouble if we answered those questions and didn't know they were cheating?
This is \(\Large\rm\color{cyan}{Open}\underline{\color{lightgreen}{Study}}\), Not \(\Large\rm\color{cyan}{Open}\underline{\color{red}{Cheat}}\). Also, if you were not aware, no. However, if you are aware that you are helping someone with such content, your actions are equally punishable.
Oh okay thank you I now know c:

Is there a difference between like showing a question from an assignment asking how to do it or understand it rather than simply asking for the answer? Or are you just meaning tests and such
Because either way on tests you're supposed to I guess already know the answers
Posting any type of content from Quizzes, Tests, and Exams is prohibited. Think of it this way, if you're having trouble on a test, your teacher certainly won't allow you to ask a fellow classmate anything regarding the test at all. It's meant to test how well you retained the information from your lessons. OpenStudy is here to help you study for upcoming Quizzes, Tests, and Exams, but not for help on those specific assessments.
That completely makes sense, are we supposed to report if we know something is from a test that we find?
Yes. (:
Will do thank you bunny ^-^
I see. But what if the person knows it's a test and you just want to help because it's the right thing to do to prepare for a more Huge exam then that's okay right? Because sometimes I see people that have small tests that are preparing them for the big test. Is it okay if we answer those?
Do you mean something like an ungraded study test, aka pre-test?
@jabez177
Yes, Ma'am.
Those are fine because they are used to help the student test their knowledge and figure out what they need to study more before the test. It's basically a study guide, so yes, we'll allow that.
Perfect! :) I will continue to be aware of such other things. Have a wonderful night! :)
Thanks! You too! (:
Oh and one more thing, do you want to post a question like this in Math, History, and Science? The main ones.
I can post them. I don't want you to get reported for spam and such. (: Thanks for the suggestion, though!
Thank you and no problem! :)
What if someone post a question from a pre-quiz and you help them get the answer then explain why ?
Or even from an assignment ?
Ungraded assesments, such as study guides or ungraded pre-tests are allowed, like I said above.
Well what if they are going to be graded but you don't give them the answer. What if you're just helping them figure out the answer and explain why it's right? Technically that's not cheating it's helping.
For normal assessments? We NEVER give out answers (even if an explanation is provided with the answer), but we can guide the user to the answer, helping them figure it out themself.
Assistance on Quizzes, Tests, and/or Exams is prohibited. No type of assistance is to be given on these.
No no no, I didn't mean give them the answer. Like help them figure it out. Some people are still not fully sure, so wouldn't it be okay if we explained why there right?
And it would be okay as long as its pretest and assignments ?
Can you provide an example of a certain circumstance of such? And like I said above, ungraded pre-tests, yes, as they are the same as study guides.
Is it alright if I tag you on my most recent post?
It's a perfect example.
Sure.
OpenStudy is OpenStudy, not OpenDating, OpenSpam, OpenCheat, ClosedCheat. OpenAnswerGiveawayer,
The reason why I'm asking is because I take Credit Recovery and this is the website that I have to use for my Credit Recovery class. I have posted questions from there on to here. Is that considered as cheating??
I believe it is.
I am new to this...but if I explain it rather than giving them the answer directly...would that be wrong?
@Serenity74 As long as the asker actually participates in solving his/her question, it is ok to explain. However, if you ask for input but the asker simply wants the answer (e.g. having you explain and work out the problem with the answer on the bottom of your explanation), then that would be considered against the rules.
I explain the problem and then have them figure it out, I never give a direct answer. How are we supposed to know if they are cheating?
See, the best method that works is to make them participate in the solving process. A person who is in a timed test won't be able to use much time in a particular question. Usually they spit out the truth when you go step by step. Besides, this is a wonderful learning method!
@AravindG I have helped a couple people who just asked me to give them the answer, because it was being timed. But I told them I can't give a direct answer.
Well done :-) Make sure you also report those users. You can also pm the link and I could look at it when I come online.
What would happen if someone gives a direct answer to a question? Is it the same for them, too? Would they get suspended for answering questions directly? @Whitemonsterbunny17
@midnighti No you get warned the first time. Then they might suspend you
@JoyousEmma Oh, I see. Thank you :)
You're welcome :>
every time someone comments I get a notification .__.
@Whitemonsterbunny17 i can't believe tall of this happen just because of my post wow man.. >.<
This has nothing to do with your post, I've just bumped it as a reminder.
What about asking for help on how to solve a question?
I'll keep my eye out for this type of activity :D
@Adrianna.Gongora, that is how it works. :) It also helps because if you are helping multiple people with their questions back and forth you will know when someone comments and also if you lost where you were, it's there! :D
oh okay :) @jabez177
thnks
