any help boo?

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

Which of the sets of ordered pairs represents a function? A = {(2, −2), (5, −5), (−2, 2), (−5, 5)} B = {(4, 2), (4, −2), (9, 3), (9, −3)} Only A Only B Both A and B Neither A nor B

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

@Willie579 @iGreen @nincompoop @raymonde20 @the_ocean_girl @Regular_x_Kidz @Englishguy @whpalmer4 @quickstudent @Agl202 @secret66 @dan815 @fatimab2000 @fancy.95.bling @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (willie579):

*Googles up what function is* :P

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

hahahahahaha

OpenStudy (willie579):

Idk. :c

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

lol. it ok, im just gonna sit here in a corner and die. no worries! *dies in corner*

OpenStudy (fatimab2000):

its think its only A

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Why? ^

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I think A represents \[f(x) = -x\]

OpenStudy (fatimab2000):

if u connect the points for B it makes a trapezoid and A makes a straight line

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

O.o

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Oh you did the test

OpenStudy (joehoffy):

?????????????

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

A way you can test to see if a given set of numbers is a function, you can do a vertical line test if it is given in the form of coordinates

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Those are coordinates, so @fatimab2000 put those coordinates onto a graph, to test them

OpenStudy (fatimab2000):

i did only a represents a function

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Basically, what the vertical line test is, is that when you want to test to see if a parabola, or whatever is a function, graph it. For example |dw:1449318589915:dw|
