FOR A MEDAL

OpenStudy (chasebraves):

A sample of 80 high school seniors, 45% of which are female, were surveyed as to whether or not they are employed outside of school. 25% of the boys surveyed said they are not employed. How many boys are employed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are 11 boys that are employed in high school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the math that I used to get that answer is the fact that 45% of 80 is 36 so there are 36 girls and 44 boys so when I got that I went and did 25% of 44 and that is 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

45% are female. Therefor 55% is boys. 55% of 80 is \[\frac{80}{100}*55=44\]Now 25% of those are employed: \[\frac{44}{100}*25=11\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry @Tommynaiter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you are a day late and a dollar short

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry for what :) ? All we want is for him to understand it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, you shouldnt just give the answer @suppa_lova . In that case, you should read the code of conduct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...... I made sure that I gave that steps to get the answer for the question @JamesSmithx so I think that I did a good thing for an answer to the question

OpenStudy (chasebraves):
