OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

Explain how you could calculate the area of your class room with out using a large measuring tape.

OpenStudy (landon34):

thats easy.

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

get a meter stick or multiple meter sticks and use those to measure the length and width of the floor like if there's multiple ones do this

OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

I know I can use a shoe. like if i just happened to have a size 12 shoe (which i dont) then i can use that by the foot.

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

but if you only have one just scoot it on the ground, but use a marker to makesure you're starting the measuring at the right place

OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

a meter stick, i cant use any form of ruler or tape measure dudes

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

ohhhhhhhh gotcha my bad XD

OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

its all good dude

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

If Rosie O'Donnell can fit through in the room, then the room must have an area over 100 square feet. I don't think there would be a way to not measure it then, unless you took an object that you knew the exact length of. Like if you knew a leaf was 4 inches

OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

true, true.

OpenStudy (sneakysquash):

thats why i thought a shoe because they are measured in inches

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

you could count the tiles|dw:1449857392412:dw| like this would be 20 square feet, since most tiles in a class room are 1 foot wide and long, and if they're not, you could just say 20 square tiles
