please help question is in the picture.
The number in front of the x on each answer if the slope. Would you know how to find that looking at this graph?
You just need to plug in the x and y values until you find the values that satisfy the equation
For example, option A. y=0.014x+49.15 1.55=0.014(50)+49.15 If you solve this, is it true or false?
This is harder than it looks
Not really, it is just plugging in values for the variables, and then solving the equation.
Ok but i am not a mathlete
Neither am I, I bought that title.
So, @KatyKatie, is it true or false?
Really
Yeah, pretty simple if answer choice are given
How do you but the title
Yup, you just earn enough medal and then buy whatever title you want.
I think i have 2 medals
How much can i get for that
Well, 498 more, and you could be a mathlete.
What
But, really. @KatyKatie, do you have an answer for me?
sorry i was doing something it's false
Yes, so could you try the same thing with option C?
ok
Ok, just let me know when.
Yes, therefore, C is your answer.
thank so much for your help again
No problem, and if you have any more questions about this problem or similar, just let me know.
ok
testing 1point in general is not sufficient. since 2 different lines can cross at the same point you would have to find an equation that satisifies 2 points
True, I forgot to mention that I guess, but I had done it before just to verify my answer, but yes a good point indeed.
one way to narrow the work .. only 2 slopes are given as options. test out a point: (a,b) y = m(x-a)+b for each slope m and see if you only get one option.
.014(-50)+1.55 = .85 as the y intercept 58.8(-50)+1.55 = -2938.45, which isnt an option ... so yeah
