OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

Can someone explain to me how to find the average range of change? http://prntscr.com/9e6e97

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the average rate of change is change in cost/ number of years so take the cost in 2000- cost in 1960 and divide by number of years bewtween 1960 and 2000

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

So I would not have to find you the percent of change between each one like the change between 1960 and 1970?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

It doesn't ask for % change so take the actual cost

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

Sorry I didnt give you the question :P it is this: Calculate the percent of change of the item's price each decade, and use your results to determine the average rate of change from 1960–2000.

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

My real problem was with 1970-1980 They are .09 cents apart then I did this|dw:1450124465983:dw|

OpenStudy (mrnood):

|dw:1450124351040:dw| ok - sorry - haven' t ime to do this now - maybe best to post the actual question first next time yeah - it says find the % change EACH decade first on 1970 -1960 = (6-4)/4 *100% = 50 % do the rest
