Combine like terms
15x-x=?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
14x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@pooja195 is right.
Combine like variables together, and do the same for constants. Then, simplify the expression into a [ variable + constant ] format. That's how you'll get your answer @Jbadd56
pooja195 (pooja195):

ohhh ok
pooja195 (pooja195):
Do you understand better now? :)
OpenStudy (landon34):
problem to solve is:
-x - 2 +15x
Because of the minus sign
x becomes - x
The answer is -x
-x-2 evaluates to -x-2
Multiply x and 15
Multiply x and 1
The x just gets copied along.
The answer is x
x
15*x evaluates to 15x
-x + 15x = 14x
The answer is 14x-2
-x-2+15*x evaluates to 14x-2
The final answer is what?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what
OpenStudy (anonymous):
14x-2
