Write a paragraph identifying the causes and effects of the black migration in the post mid-war era. @XhawaiiangirlX
What do you know about the black migration during this time. Just brainstorm and write as many ideas as you can think of to start.
ok
Causes • Segregation • Increase in racism • Widespread violence of lynching • Lack of social and economic opportunities in the South There were also factors that pulled migrants to the north, such as labor shortages in northern factories due to World War I that resulted in thousands of jobs available to African Americans in steel mills, railroads, meatpacking plants, and the automobile industry.
@wwhitlock
You've go plenty for a paragraph. Introduce the topic with some like you already have. "Many factors lead to black migration..... Then choose the most important one and write a full sentence. Go to the next most important and do the same. Keep going until you have covered enough. Look at the ideas first and see if you can combine any or if there are duplicates. You don't have to be wordy. Just write the idea and move on.
Ok. Thanks. Also, I have to cover the effects as well. My teacher only wants one paragraph.
@wwhitlock
One? Then you need to edit yourself to the most important to maybe 3 causes and effects. You have enough for a couple paragraphs at least. Time to prioritize. This is hard sometimes because you may want to put it all in. Make your best judgements, put in the best and trash the rest.
Ok.
Here's what Ih aev so far. The Black Migration occurred when African-Americans living in the South migrated mainly to the North. This occurred before and after World War II. Effects and Results • Resulted in the Harlem Renaissance • Rural black population in the South decreased greatly • Educated African Americans were better able to obtain jobs after the Great Migration Spanning the 1920s to the mid-1930s, the Harlem Renaissance was a literary, artistic, and intellectual movement that kindled a new black cultural identity
