OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

Is my SRS definition correct: Is this a good enough example: allows researchers to use statistical methods to analyze sample results, and it There are many ways to obtain a simple random sample. One way would be the lottery method. Each of the N population members is assigned a unique number. The numbers are placed in a bowl and thoroughly mixed. Then, a blind-folded researcher selects n numbers. Population members having the selected numbers are included in the sample.

OpenStudy (phi):

It sounds ok, but it also sounds like someone else wrote it.

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

thats because someone else did.. not i just gotta simplify it

Directrix (directrix):

Your answer seems to give a technique for creating a SRS. The question asks for a definition of a simple random sample. At the core of simple random sampling is that everyone in the population being sampled has an equal chance of being selected. I'm thinking you are to give a definition of SRS rather than to describe how to get the sample. That's just my opinion. Go with what you think. @Howard-Wolowitz

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

I see, well then I dont know what to put for a suitable answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sounds good!

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

@Directrix so what would you ocnsider a suitable answer since the other poeple tinhk that is already a suitable answer. Also I do agree with you I reviewed it and it does seem like method, but I also dont know a suitable defintion.
