OpenStudy (annjewell1998):

Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line that passes through (4, 2) with a slope of 3. a. y = 3x - 10 b. y = 3x + 4 c. y - 2 = 3 (x - 4) d. y = 4x + 3

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Okay. So the formula template is: \[y = mx + b\] Now m is slope and b is the y intercept. Now just plug in everything.

OpenStudy (annjewell1998):

Thank's for the help! :) so it would be y=3x+4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 No, y=3x+4 is incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 Both b and d are incorrect, because none of them pass through the points (4, 2)

OpenStudy (annjewell1998):

So is it a then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 Hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 That's strange, both a and c are the same thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 Oh, the question says Write the slope-intercept form A is the slope intercept form of C. So yeah, the answer to this would be A. :)

OpenStudy (annjewell1998):

Thank you!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@annjewell1998 Yeah, no problem. :)
