What type of heat transfer is heat that comes from a heat lamp in a bathroom? Conduction Convection Radiation Potential My answer is Radiation, C. Is it correct?
yes
@inkyvoyd pls can you explain?
a heat lamp in a bathroom is isolated from its surroundings mainly from the air. Air is a VERY good insulator, so conduction is incorrect. Convection, the mixing of air currents, does occur, but generally speaking, a heat lamp, like a fire, transfers heat mainly via emitting electromagnetic waves (think light of different wavelengths, some you can't see like infrared) via the blackbody radiation effect (basically hot things emit light). Thus even though convection might occur over time, the primary source of heat transfer in this situation would be radiation
thanks so much @inkyvoyd :)
