Need help please. What is the equation of the graphed line? Hint: Determine the slope of the line. y = x= https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1503000_1503500/1503204/2/62a6c66e5dc886fe671c55450260437b66e1d8da/MS_IMC-140516-1000014.jpg

@iGreen

OpenStudy (mathmale):

This line goes through the origin, so the vertical intercept is (0,0). You'll need to determine the slope of this line. Starting from (0,0), move to the right an integer number of squares; then move up an integer number of squares. The slope is (rise) / (run).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4,3

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Note how the line goes thru (0.0) exactly, not approximately. The line does not go thru (4,3) exactly; it's a little bit off. I ask you to look at the line again. Given that it goes thru (0,) "exactly," follow the line to the first point through which it also passes "exactly."

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Unfortunately, it's not (4,3).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3,5

OpenStudy (dayakar):

(x, y ) =(3.2) is one point on the line slope (m) = y/x equqtion of the line y = mx

OpenStudy (mathmale):

(3,5) is partially correct: x=3. But y=5 is not correct. Try again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/2?

OpenStudy (dayakar):

(3,2) is correct

OpenStudy (mathmale):

@dayakar, instead of giving away answers, help CuteGirl learn how to find them herself. Explain, please, why you believe (3,2) i

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please explain (to Cute Girl) how she would determine the point (3,2).

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Explain why (3,5) is not correct.

OpenStudy (dayakar):

@mathmale ,she is already written 3/2 instead of (3,2) i corrected it.s form

OpenStudy (dayakar):

slope of a line passing through origin is m=y/x from the point u written above do u identify which is x and y then find slope m

OpenStudy (mathmale):

dayakar: What can you tell cute girl that will help her in the future to read off slopes from a graph? Correcting her or giving her the answer doesn't help much.

OpenStudy (dayakar):

@mathmale , she (cute girl) is offline , if she wants i can

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'd much prefer you wait until Cute Girl comes back online. The goal here is to get her involved in this problem solving. Encourage her to ask questions, share her ideas, and so on.

OpenStudy (dayakar):

i do ,it depends on learners interest
