OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Let's look at this equation. We need to find the highest number that can go into both 8 and 32. Why don't we try 8 first since that's the numerator. 8 goes in to 8 once, how many times does 8 go in to 32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 goes into 32, 4 times

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yes, so that fraction can be simplified to \(\dfrac14\)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

That is an option :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, ok

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Since we have 1 before the decimal, we know that there will be a 1 before the fraction. I'll give you a hint to convert .26 to a fraction. .26 is the same as \(\dfrac{26}{100}\), now, can you simplify that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13/50?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yes! So the answer is \(1 \dfrac{13}{50}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh.....thanks!!!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

No problem :) Is that all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya... i think so. if i bump into trouble, can i ask you?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Of course! :3
