I need Qualified helpers to answer this question since it is about how to apply for this at my age since I am pretty young and smart so I can be a help for some people

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please see: http://openstudy.com/whats-new

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am 11 so it might be a little bit odd for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 11 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I am not in highschool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale can you send me an email or something for me to be able to apply without having to do all this stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause I need some highschool eduaction for this stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got a middle school education

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but can get a smart score of like 70 if need be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to apply

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Liam, I so much appreciate your interest in becoming a Qualified Helper. However, to qualify you'll need far more background in math than you'd have from elementary school. I'd guess that most current Qualified Helpers have finished at least three years of high school math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can try to get some background in highschool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

might take me like 7 - 8 months

OpenStudy (mathmale):

It's exposure to and experience with math, as well as the ability to teach others, that qualifies one to become a Qualified Helper. Yes, take lots of math and give it your very best shot. Sadly, this would take a lot longer than 7-8 months.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trust me it will take 7 - 8 months

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at these kids like jacob barnett

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he became a physics teacher on youtube at 12 after 1 year

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of learning stuff

OpenStudy (mathmale):

There are usually exceptions to every rule. The number of 12- or 13-year-olds who become professors of math or physics that early is, however, extremely small. I certainly want to encourage you, Liam, but also to send you in directions that make the most sense: Do your very best NOW, in everything connected with school, especially with math, and with helping relationships. Take enrichment math. Study and practice math in your free time as well as in school. Keep in touch. Best of luck to you.

anyone online?

jabez177 (jabez177):

@Liam2004, in order to be a Qualified Helper, your SS has to be about 90+. And you have to be older than 13.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Liam: Again, I applaud your desire to be of help to others and your aspiration to become a Qualified Helper (one who meets higher standards, personally and academically). But I've carefully explained to you some of the qualifications necessary. Your responding to another person's explanation of additional qualifications, "crap," does not show the level of maturity sought in Qualified Helpers.
