For number 4, take 7% of 8000, multiply that by 5 and then add it back to 8000
For number 5, take 22% of 50 and then add it back to 50
OpenStudy (anonymous):
For number 6 take the money you put in, take the percentage it says of that, multiply that percentage by the number of years and see if it is greater than 800
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
can you be a little more specific plz?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well for number 4, first you take 7% of 8000

Do you know how to take percentages?
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
7% = 0.07
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
like that right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah and then you multiply it by whatever number
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So what is 7% of 8000

OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
0.07 * 8000 = 560
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
now what @Brill ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So that result is only the interest for 1 year, so to get 5 years you wuold multiply that by 5, which is...?
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
560 * 5 ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yep

Well 5 is fairly simple, you take the percentages of whatever amount of money it says on all of them
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So lets check the first option in number 5
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You have to pay $45 plus 7% tax

So find that 7% of 45
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
0.07 of 45
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yup
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
so I multiply them?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes

OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
0.07 * 45 = 3.15
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes now the question is asking to choose the ones with a tax above $3, since $3.15 is more than $3 that is one of the options you choose
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
so now what do I do?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You check the rest of the options in number 5 the same way
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Look at the intial purchase, take whatever percent it asks of that, and see if it is above $3

OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
wait im confused
OpenStudy (anonymous):
It's asking to choose ALL options where the tax is above $3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
To find tax you have to take whatever percentage it gives you times the however much money being spent
Like we did with the first option
OpenStudy (rainbow_rocks03):
😞ugh this is kind of hard for me
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The first one is 2800 i think, sorry idk for sure

Well not really rainbowrock, just use your calculator for the last one and just go through multiplying the first number by the percentage, and if it's greater than 3 it's one of the answers
