OpenStudy (anonymous):

does the mean remain the same when the outlier is removed

OpenStudy (zarkon):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remains the sme

OpenStudy (curiousquestions):

How would you find the mean?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the mean is not resistant to outliers

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

should be logical, if you consider the definition of "mean"

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Well, the mean is sum of values divided by the number of values. So, if you remove 1 value (which isn't equivalent to the current mean - since it is an outlier), would that change the mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you say the mean remains the same when the outlier is removed, it depends on what the outlier is if it is 0 then it will not change n=but if it is 1 or greater, then it will change.
