OpenStudy (study312):

I know this isn't a math question. Is submerged a strong verb or a quality adjective?

OpenStudy (natasha18):

Well, first ask yourself whether submerged is a verb or and adjective, because it can't be both. Which one do you think it is?

OpenStudy (study312):

Verb..?

OpenStudy (natasha18):

Well this is a tricky one. Considering this word could be either a verb or an adjective, we have to think this one through. You don't have a sentenced it's used in, do you?

OpenStudy (study312):

"The person the dunked in water" I need to say how they were dunked in water to make it sound more interesting

OpenStudy (natasha18):

So do you need to rewrite the sentence? Or just choose the form of submerged?

OpenStudy (study312):

was dunked*

OpenStudy (natasha18):

Because I think your first answer is right. It seems the stronger use of the word would be in verb form.

OpenStudy (natasha18):

Ok now that you fixed your sentence, I get it. Yes you were correct. I think since the verb is in passive form, it makes more sense for submerged to be the verb.

OpenStudy (study312):

ok Thx

OpenStudy (natasha18):

Glad to help :)
