which of the following names a type of figurtive language

OpenStudy (anonymous):

metaphor ,definition ,dialogue ,or rhythm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one do you think it is?

OpenStudy (lpabc):

metaphor is the type figurative language

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Metaphor is a 'figurative language'. When someone says, 'let the cat out of the bag,' he doesn't really mean that, it is figurative. Meaning, its has a saying behind it! definition and dialogue doesn't fall in that place. Definition is the meaning of something, it is not figurative, it means what it says. Dialogue is just a form of speech with two characters involved: " Did you let Pipi back inside, Tom?" "No, mother. I haven't yet." And rhythm just occurs mostly in poems sentences. It has nothing to do with figurative language, just how a poem is formatted. So it is A, or metaphor.
