OpenStudy (blondie_b23):

Can someone help me with some math? I completely forgot how to do this. Essentially, I have to figure out which cookie is the cheapest based on the number of chips and what the price per chocolate chip is. Brand #1 – Simply Made: $ 2.50/20 cookies Brand #2 – Chips Deluxe: $ 2.50 /24 cookies Brand #3 – Chips Ahoy: $ 3.50/45 cookies Brand #4 – Great Value: $ 2.00/36 cookies Simply Made has 27 chocolate chips per cookie Chips Deluxe has 26.5 chocolate chips per cookie Chips Ahoy has 24.6 chocolate chips per cookie Great Value has 19.5 chips per cookie

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

First divide all the prices by the amount of cookies it gets. so for example, for brand #1, you'd do 2.5/20

OpenStudy (blondie_b23):

Which gives me .13 cents per cookie. Right?

OpenStudy (blondie_b23):

@StudyGurl14 How do I figure out how to do the chips?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

right, now divide that by the amount of chips per cookie for that brand

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

and actually, it'd be 0.125 per cookie, not .13

OpenStudy (blondie_b23):

.0046? I rounded up.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

yes.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Just repeat with all the rest.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

make sure to record all this too, so you can easily compare them when you're done

OpenStudy (blondie_b23):

Thank you so much! I was pretty sure that was how to do this, but this is pretty basic math and it has been so long since I've done it.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

:) You're welcome
