If a polynomial equation p(x)=0 has 3+4i as a solution, what other solution must it have?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hey Allyii :) Complex solutions always come in `conjugate pairs`. Conjugates look the same, but with the opposite sign in front of the imaginary part. Example: The conjugate of `7+3i` would be `7-3i`.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So if `3+4i` is a solution, then it's conjugate must also be a solution! :) What does that conjugate look like? Able to figure out based on information I provided?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be 3+4i?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3-4i*

zepdrix (zepdrix):

yay good job \c:/

Thanks!
