Verify that quadrilateral BCDE is a rhombus with vertices B(-5, 1), C(0, 6), D(5, 1) and E (0, -4) by showing that all four sides are equal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. BD = CE = square root of 50 B. BD = CE = 50 C. BC = CD = DE = EB = 50 D. BC = CD = DE = EB = square root of 50

Use the distance formula to find the length of each side. \[d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a rhombus all four side have to be equal, so it's has to be c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. I think C am I correct, or do you not know the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know, but you actually have to put two of the points into the formula. You won't get 50 when you do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok I get it now it is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
