Based on these passages, what is the main difference between the teachings of W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington? A. Washington saw the benefits of education, and DuBois believed it conflicted with progress. B. Washington insisted on political and civil rights, and DuBois demanded economic progress. C. Washington promoted self-reliance and the gradual advancement of the black people, and DuBois supports radical change. D. Washington approached the problem from a capitalist point of view, and DuBois approached it from a spiritual one.
After analyzing it I think the answer is C. Does anyone have any other thoughts?
Hmm this one is very tough. May I have your explanation on why you think it is C to better understand your reasoning?
The passage did not speak about anything spiritual, so, I crossed out D. It specifically said that he didn't want African Americans to have polital and civil rights, so , that crossed off B. Which left me with A and C and A didn't make sense. @mustbethestars
Well when A says "it" I would think it would be talking about education. So I would think it doesn't make sense either since he never said or hinted that it conflicted with progress. However I think you misread B. Washington was a Civil Rights activist. So it is impossible that he wanted bad for the African Americans. I would say B because it doesn't say anything about radical change.
Thank you for your help. @mustbethestars
No Problem :)
I actually did get this one wrong. It is not C.
