@priyar

OpenStudy (priyar):

can u differentiate : y=-18x+120..taking alue from the last q?

OpenStudy (priyar):

dy/dx=?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

what does the d stand for?

OpenStudy (priyar):

dy means very very small change in y

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Ok so than what do i do next?

OpenStudy (priyar):

Ex: y = 2x+3 then dy/dx= 2 +0

OpenStudy (priyar):

do the same for this

OpenStudy (priyar):

dy/dx is nothing but the slope of the equation..

OpenStudy (priyar):

do u know how to find slope?

OpenStudy (priyar):

@horsegal244 ?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Sry i dont...

OpenStudy (priyar):

ok then..did u see the example i gave?

OpenStudy (priyar):

dy/dx=?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Im sry this is confusing me...

OpenStudy (priyar):

ok i will do this one as an example but pls be sure to revise these concepts.. ok?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Ok

OpenStudy (priyar):

here dy/dx=-18 (Function 2) and.. for Function 1..slope=dy/dx= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are two points on the function..Here i have taken 2 values from the given table (you can choose any two..) we have, slope=dy/dx = (80-100)/(2-1) = ?

OpenStudy (priyar):

can u simplify this?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

20 and 1

OpenStudy (priyar):

u mean (-20)/1 right?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Yea

OpenStudy (priyar):

so rate of change of Function 1 = -18 rate of change of Function 2 = -20 So what is the correct option?

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Function 2?

OpenStudy (priyar):

no i am asking which statement is correct..

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Oh A

OpenStudy (priyar):

WELL DONE!!

OpenStudy (horsegal244):

Yay! ill tag you in it :)

OpenStudy (priyar):

in what?

OpenStudy (priyar):

sorry..i got to go..
