Any help is appreciated!! :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
right
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
u should note that a linear function is generated only when the values of x and y are constant
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
wouldn't that be Table #3?

OpenStudy (mathmath333):
yes it would be
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
I left the second column unfinished. it looks like
y-2=1.5(x-2)
y=1.5x- ....
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
I blanked out. I forgot how to solve the rest
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
first rewrite 1.5=3/2
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
would it be y=1.5x-1?

oh ok
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
on the second column?
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
equation can be given as
\
y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-2=3/2(x-2)
now try to solve it
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
u may start with multiplying the whole equation by 2
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
see this is where I got confused.

OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
y=3/2x+4?
OpenStudy (freckles):
how did you get that @ohmybookness from what @mathmath333 has above?
OpenStudy (freckles):
I would use distributive property where he has 3/2(x-2)
and then add 2 on both sides
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
y-2=3/2(x-2)
2y-2*2=2*3/2(x-2)
2y-4=3(x-2)
can u simplify now
OpenStudy (ohmybookness):
y=3/2x-1
