is it possible to sing of sheet music without ever hearing the song before as long a you have a conductor of even without one for example the last rose of summer from sheet music
I don't think do becuase the conducter only tells you about if you should sing higher, lower, lower, slower, or faster. A conducter can't exactly tell what note to sing.
It is possible @reddtail yes a conductor does this but they in fact do help you with the notes. Plus if you are good at reading sheet music, this should be easy as can be. I have been in chorus and many other musical classes for many years and have practiced with my alto babies alot. Learning sheet music is a key to learning the music itself, so basically you dont technically need to know the song if you are going to perform, just the notes and the pitch.
This is called sight singing. Generally you need reference point (i.e. the first note of the song) after that it's all intervals. Some people have what's called perfect pitch which allows you to hear the reference point in your head and sing the intervals from there. Really with sight singing it's all about the intervals. If you practice that enough it becomes a relatively simple task. Especially with accompaniment. A conductor could certainly help you but he or she has to have something to work with.
