math help pls

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

@AnitaS.

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Aighty so... first lets see the y-intercept which is 24 (positive) since the line hits 24 on y. next is to find the slope. So... use two points ON THE LINE. we have (4, 16) and (6, 12). Either way... subtract the y values then the x values.y answer goes on top. x goes on bottom. 16 - 12 = 4... 4 - 6 = -2... 4/-2 aka -2 is your slope. Your answer is y = -2x + 24. If you want proof, ask.

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

yeah i graphed that and it was right. thanks! can you help me with the rest pls? @Nitroster

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Sure! :P Wish my own question could be solved xD

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

i looked at your question and i dont know geometry :/

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Variable B is 12... You simply look. x is the bottom line(horizontal). y is the side line(length).

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Fan me pls :P lol

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

oh okay.

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Try solving it yourself this time.. Ill correct u if needed :) Its better to learn

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

250-40=210 210-14=196 0/196=0 y=0x+250? im pretty sure i did that wrong @Nitroster

OpenStudy (nitroster):

ok... it was when you did y -y = x - x 250 - 40 = 210... THEN... 0 - 14 = -14... 210/-14 (PUT IN CALCULATOR) = -15 y = -15x + 250

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

oh

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

okay

OpenStudy (nitroster):

ya cause ur points should have been (0, 250) and (14, 40).. Make sure u always have a calculator for simplifications, makes life very easy xD

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

is this one just 85%?

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

or is there more to it

OpenStudy (nitroster):

I believe so... strange question xD

OpenStudy (nitroster):

I wish it was a bit more descriptive.. hmm, but yeah 85% seems reasonable

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

Yeah! All of them were correct! Kinda weird on that last one though, but thanks a ton!

OpenStudy (nitroster):

Yeah, so I guess for that one.. just follow the line :) No problem! Good luck on your studies! :P

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

Thank you! Have a nice day!
