Choose the word phrase (greater than, less than, or equal to) to make the statements true. Each paper clip can be traded for three matches. Each pencil can be traded for six paper clips. Two pencils and two paper clips are worth (greater than, less than, equal to) thirty-eight matches.

OpenStudy (notshh):

since matches are worth the least, you'd want to find out how much the paper clip and pencil are worth in terms of matches it gives you that 1 paper clip = 3 matches since 1 pencil = 6 paper clips, 1 pencil = 18 matches then substitute the values into the statement make sense?

Okay, so it would be "equal to", right? @notshh

OpenStudy (notshh):

not exactly the equation is: 2 pencils and 2 paper clips (?) 38 matches 2 pencils = 36 matches 2 paper clips = 6 matches

Oh well. I got a 90% on that assignment so it's all good.
