Hey @isaac4321 ! What do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi @MeganXOXO I had a question about exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure, go ahead and post it! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thx and sorry for the late response I was eating

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's ok! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is 8^5 I'm kinda stumped on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MeganXOXO

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah! So, let me show you an example first! \(\bf\Large a^4 = \underbrace{a\times a\times a\times a}\\~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did u get that 4 on the bottom

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^4 means multiplying a by itself 4 times!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The four on the bottom is not division! It's trying to show you that a is being multiplied by itself 4 times!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\bf \Large base^{exponent}\) \(\bf \Large 8^5\) 8 is the base, and 5 is the exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhhh ok thx sooooo much @MeganXOXO

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, can you figure out what 8^5 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I can
