Help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i came because this question is blinking yellow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz help I spent all my owlbucks for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh inequalities. so first off where is the dot located?

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

An open circle means that the number it is circling is NOT included in the domain. A closed circle (or completely filled in) means that the number it is circle IS included in the domain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meh that paragraph will just confuzzle you. an open circle means there's no line under the < or >

pooja195 (pooja195):

@jinxhead20 Can you tell me where the dot is located?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's going from 3 to before negative one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry! I'm not good at inequalities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like....at all

pooja195 (pooja195):

@jinxhead20 what number would be in between 0 and -1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what's confusing me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it like this, what is half of a dollar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And what fraction of the dollar is it?

pooja195 (pooja195):

|dw:1453954816902:dw|

pooja195 (pooja195):

Look at your answer choices...it can only be one of those numbers if it is a whole number the dot will be on the number exactly if it is a fraction it wont be on the points or increments

pooja195 (pooja195):

^it would not be an inequality It would simply be a fraction. (can be written as a decimal but in this case it is a fraction)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/2 sorry I'm dumb!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah your're just learning :P now what is the other point?

pooja195 (pooja195):

its alright no worries you are not dumb we are all here to learn :) now we need to determine if it will have a solid line on the bottom or not. |dw:1453955142700:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the other point is 3

pooja195 (pooja195):

Correct now figure out which symbols they would have using the diagram i provided

OpenStudy (anonymous):

something that proves the fact that t is between -1/2 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know 3 has a greater than or equal to symbol ( idk how to type it)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm figuring out -1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

<

pooja195 (pooja195):

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Icedragon50 something that proves the fact that t is between -1/2 and 3 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) The something is because the inequality we currently have is an "and inequality" |dw:1453955436531:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 = >_ -1/2 is<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you poop. @jinxhead20 hmm not quite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure that t should be greater or equal to 3?

pooja195 (pooja195):

so \[\huge~\rm~ -1/2<t \ge 3\] is that what you are trying to say? @jinxhead20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try looking at your choices then retype your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause you're really close

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup!

pooja195 (pooja195):

@Icedragon50 why not explain what they are doing wrong instead of making them guess? @jinxhead20 the 3 has a shaded dot...the shading goes to the left and since the dot is filled out symbol would have the line underneath it :) I hope this helps you better understand you mistake ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help with like 4 more question and I don't have more owlbucks for another answer. Infact can I tag you guys on another regular question

pooja195 (pooja195):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
