Someone please help, I've been stuck on this for such a long time. This is for WWI, not WWII. WWI PEOPLE, WWI Identify ten events and/or battles that played a significant role in the events of the war for your side: (My side is the Allies) These are the events/battles that I have so far: The First Battle of the Marne, The Zimmermann Telegram, Germany restarting unrestricted submarine warfare, United States entering the war, The Hundred Days Offensive, The Second Battle of the Marne. I need 4 more. Please help, I can't find anything.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Surrender

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny ??? Can you just help please?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

I would say The Battle of the Somme.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Sorry, that's all I have.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wasn't that a Win for the central powers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella Never mind, "At the end of the battle, British and French forces had penetrated 6 miles (9.7 km) into German-occupied territory, taking more ground than any offensive since the Battle of the Marne in 1914." Wikipedia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I need 3 more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you guys think I would be able to find the information needed here? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_I_battles ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny @Qwertty123 @pooja195 @Gabby2117 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella ?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

its worth looking at

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Yeah I thinks so. Though Wikipedia isn't always the best source !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you guys think of any other events that helped the Allies win the war? Like the zimmerman telegram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problem is that I need events and battles that helped the Allies win the war and played significant roles. Not just any battles that the Allies won.

OpenStudy (paki):

The Battle of Bluge... Winning over Rommel in Africa... Atomic Bombs dropped over Japan...

OpenStudy (paki):

also Pearl Harbor Attack...

OpenStudy (paki):

Battle of Stalingrad...

OpenStudy (welshfella):

those are all WW2 battles.

OpenStudy (paki):

Battle of Polland...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella @paki Sorry, my snack break took longer than expected, I'm back.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Frontiers French and British rearguard actions delayed the German advance, allowing the French time to transfer their forces to the west to defend Paris, resulting in the First Battle of the Marne. Would this count as one of the "battles that played a significant role in the events of the war for your side"

OpenStudy (welshfella):

I think so.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

There wa also an important battle near the end of the war when the Italians overcame the Austro-Hungarian forces which ended the existence of this empire. Battle of Vittori0 Veneto.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella Just read the Battle of Vittorio Veneto, it works. Now I need 2 more...

OpenStudy (welshfella):

HOW ABOUT THESinking of the Lusitania ? - or was that linked to the US enetering the war?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I kinda got that. Germany started unrestricted submarine warfare. The sinking of that ship just made Germany stop for a bit. Then it started and that's why the U.s. entered. SO Germany restarts unrestricted submarine warefare kinda covers that

OpenStudy (welshfella):

oh ok How about the Abdicatioin of the German Kaiser just before the war ended?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella Dang, sorry. I keep leaving. I tried reading about that, but I couldn't find out how it benefited the Allies. How did it benefit the Allies?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella I'm really sorry, I won't do it again. Please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm reading this right now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_II,_German_Emperor#Abdication_and_flight

OpenStudy (welshfella):

well i guess the Germans gave up the fight when he left the country. He travelled to Holland and spent the rest of his life there. So it shortened the war.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella Alright, that works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ggreat carrot war of 4009-5923
