OpenStudy (blaynebrocwell):

Which of the following was NOT a means that U.S. representatives used to coerce Native American tribes into signing unfair treaties? Liquor Exploitation of "historic guilt" Threat of military action Indebtedness to European traders

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Welcome to OS. Hmm interesting question. I supposes that treaties were unfair. A person with this perspective of US History is going to assign "historic guilt" to the US. So that's the one to eliminate.

OpenStudy (xxskittlesxx):

I'd say the answer is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. I would say the answer is B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So look at it this way, the question is which one they didn't use.

OpenStudy (blaynebrocwell):

lol thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And they did not go up to the Indians and say to them "HEY DO YOU FEEL BAD YOU WHITE INDIANS FOR ALL THE STUFF YOU DID?"

OpenStudy (xxskittlesxx):

So the answer is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They did use liquor to persuade them. They did threaten to kill their families. They did say stuff like "YOU OWE US WE SAVED YOU!" , and stuff like that. So the answer is in fact Exploitation of Historic Guilt be cause they did not use it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So B.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Military action was always a threat. They didn't even have to say it. The US had more firepower.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly ^ Go America number 1 since 1492

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol historic inaccuracyyyy

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Don't get it twisted. History is exciting. But we can remain calm :)
