The New Deal had no effect on the ending of the Great Depression. The Great Depression continued to worsen partly because of the New Deal. The New Deal had some impact on bringing about an end to the Great Depression.

World War II was the main thing that ended the GD. Everybody got jobs as soldiers or in factories. Hard to say if the New Deal was ultimately positive or negative. But one of your choices is vague enough to cover both. "Some impact" could mean either.

I agree, the Great Depression was not just a quick event that the country went through, it dragged out for years, people became homeless and started to travel to look for work. A lot of civilians blamed president Hoover for this, so they were eager to get Roosevelt into the White House. It wasn't until about the middle of his term that the Great Depression slowly came to an end.
