you get y on one side, everything else on other side of '=' graph both equations, if they intersect, only one solution, if they are same line, there are infinitely many, if they are parallel, there is no solutions

Hey I am here for rescue: For the first question just graph them and you will get two parallel lines. This means that the are no solutions so the answer will be none :) For the second question the solution will be the intersection of the lines which is at (4,0)

for first multiply (1) by 2 6x+8y=24 but 6x+8y=-12 so there are two parallel lines .
