question on optics

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

the red part, why?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Because the angles are small, so \(\dfrac{h'}{f_E}=\tan \theta_E \approx \theta_E\) and \(\dfrac{h}{f_O}=\tan \theta_O \approx \theta_O\)

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

ofcourse I know that! @Vincent-Lyon.Fr I am saying, "can't you see that its not the full triangle

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Explain why thetaE=h(prime)/fE???

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

and also the denominator respectively!

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

The triangles are here in green.

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Cleared! You saved my day again @Vincent-Lyon.Fr Salute

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Thank you so much @Vincent-Lyon.Fr
