Help? http://prntscr.com/a0mj0f I keep getting 3/2 for this one: http://prntscr.com/a0mj9u

OpenStudy (dayakar):

can u draw a graph for the inequations

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

kitty, do you think 3/2 is the right answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i kept getting but its not in the choices

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Look at the choices again. What does 3/2 equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it equals 1.5

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

And do you see a 1.5 answer in those choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

what is another way to express .5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Therefore 1.5 equals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 1/2

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

not 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.5=1/2 1.5=3/2

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

3/2 = 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

So, the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11/2

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

That's right - or to make it look a little more proper 1 and 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Or 1 ½

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any idea on the others?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'll look

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

With question 23 I'd say substitute appropriate values for x and y C = 5x -y so that x>=0 y>=5 and x+y <= 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i dont understand

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

For x>=0 , x can be 0 , 1, 2, 3, etc y>=5 y can be 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10 x+y <= 12 This limits your choices for x and y since their total must be 12 or less than 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is the answer less than 12?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

For the minimum value, x would be 0 and y could be 12 so the value of c would be -24 Working on the maximum value now .........

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

For a maximum value, we choose y =5 x can be no larger than 7 because x+y would be greater than 12 so the maximum value would be c = 25 So the correct answer is the third one down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty
