Which of these is an example of discrete data? A. Temperature B. Rides in an amusement park C. Area of a room D. Distance
Well, discrete data must have a finite number. For example, the number of students in a class. This is a finite number because you can't have half of a student. So, which of your choices will always have a finite number?
It would be rides because rides have lots of numbers(rides to count)
Yo, we can't just give out the answers. But to also further explain why the others are incorrect: Temperature can be 32.4 degrees, so it can't be used as discrete data. The same goes for area of a room, say 23.5 feet. And distance, as well.
C @Irrati0nal
It can't be C because the area of a room could be 23.5 feet, which isn't a finite number. Now, amusement park rides are finite because there can only be a finite number of rides, say 15 rides.
ok then , it would not be the rest because Temperature can be 32.4 degrees, so it can't be used as discrete data. The same goes for area of a room, say 23.5 feet. And distance, as well.
so the only one left is.......
LOL, you just copied my response...
what no!!!....
It's cool bro. I think she understands the answer now.
Anyway I agree with Irrati0nal
Let us know if you're still confused @lilkg77
Im still reading @Irrati0nal
Oh okay i get it now, thanks :)
