graph f(x) = -3 if x < -5 x+2 of -5 ≤ x ≤ 15 -x+2 if x >15

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that first line means f(x) = -3 only when x < -5 so you draw a horizontal line through y = -3 BUT it's only graphed for x values less than -5. Everything else is erased

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the next piece is y = x+2 graphed but only from -5 to 15 on the x axis

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hopefully this is making sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it makes sense. So my answers are narrowed down to A, B, and D?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes C is out because it doesn't have the horizontal part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. What do I do after x + 2?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

now graph y = -x+2 then erase the parts where x is less than 15
