OpenStudy (marcelie):

what types of graphs are even and odd?

OpenStudy (marcelie):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

symetric to the y is even graph, and symetric to (0,0) point is odd

OpenStudy (marcelie):

oh like what type of fucntions like sq root , cubic ?

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

y=x^2 is even, y=x^3 is odd

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

generally for function" if f(x)=f(-x) then even, if f(x)=-f(-x) then odd

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

square root is not even or odd

OpenStudy (welshfella):

sin x is odd , cos x is even

OpenStudy (marcelie):

thats neither?

OpenStudy (marcelie):

sin or cos doesnt matter if it was exponent >

OpenStudy (marcelie):

itll still b even or odd?

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

generally a function doesn;t need to be either odd or even.there are many functios which are neither odd nor even.

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

square root for example

OpenStudy (marcelie):

oh

OpenStudy (marcelie):

im so confused

OpenStudy (marcelie):

;/

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

you see odd and even as alternatives like in numbers. positive integer is even or odd,but in functions it is not so .if a function isn't odd it doesn't mean that it is even.

OpenStudy (marcelie):

ohhh

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

is it clear now?

OpenStudy (marcelie):

yes. ty is it true that cubic roots are always real numbers?

OpenStudy (marcelie):

for the domain?

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

for cubic root domain is real number

OpenStudy (marcelie):

is that the only one thats real number?
