The regular hexagon ABCDEF rotates 240º counterclockwise about its center to form hexagon A′B′C′D′E′F′. Point C′ of the image coincides with point (A, B, E or F) of the preimage. Point D′ of the image coincides with point (A, B, E or F) of the preimage.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

a full revolution will bring the points back to their original position so a turn of 240 degrees will revolve 240/360 of a revolution.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

also you must take account of the fact its anticlockwise

OpenStudy (welshfella):

if the point A moves anticloclwise to point F what angle does it pass through? Note that we have a hexagon - 6 sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hexagon has very cool property, which i think you may know about it. Total vertices and edges are 6 |dw:1455291137153:dw| After 60 degree rotation |dw:1455291355195:dw| Now do three more times

OpenStudy (ilovebmth1234):

three more times?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

240 degree right. I have done one times so 60 degree, 2 times 120 degree, 3 times 180, 4 times 240. Draw either in paper it will be too fast or you can see after 1 rotation A shifted to F position what it will happen after 4 rotation.
