Misty Copeland was born in Kansas City, MO on September 10, 1982.
she was the first african american to be appointed as a principal dancer for American Ballet Theatre. she was also the first to raise to points within 3 months of her first lesson, a feat no other dancer had ever done
do you need me to answer the other questions
Misty Copeland’s well-chronicled journey to becoming the first female African American principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre has helped jumpstart conversations about racial representation in ballet companies.
some of her struggles was that others thought that a black woman couldn't enter such a big company. another struggle was that people said that blacks dont have the right body
She was born in Kansas CITY, Missouri, USA, and born on Sept. 10 1982. "Rising star Misty Copeland makes history as the first African American Female Principal Dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre." "When she discovered ballet, however, Misty was living in a shabby motel room, struggling with her five siblings for a place to sleep on the floor. " (One of her struggles.) http://mistycopeland.com/
Twistrose can help you with the rest, I need to finish some of my work :), for more information this website answers everything. http://mistycopeland.com/
misty copeland was the fourth of six children. her family was mixed with different ethics. when her mother married her fourth husband, he was badly abusing and beating his step children and wife. he often called them racial slurs
things that have progressed is that now more african americans are now in ballet and are with some of the major companies
society no longer discriminates blacks and no longer says that blacks dont have the right body or that they can't dance. the only one i cant answer is : why did you chose her? I hoped i helped some! good luck!
