but can u help on my question?

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

i will try

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

45/54 for each bus stop

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

and so per hour 45/54*(1hr) that should be the answer

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

i will ask @phi he is online

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, 45/54 or 5/6 of an hour is how long it drives. that leaves 1/6 hr (10 mins) when it is stopped. You can think of it a few ways. One way is to say, if it drives for 1 hour, it will go 54 km (use rate * time = distance) but it only went 45 km, so it did not drive for 1 hour: 54*t= 45 t= 45/54= 5/6

OpenStudy (phi):

another way to think of it: let t be a fraction of an hour when it is driving and (1-t) the fraction it is not driving (going 0 kph) then the distance it goes in 1 hour is 54*t + 0*(t-1) = 45 (same equation, but we are "averaging" the speeds 54 and 0 )

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

ok thnks

OpenStudy (phi):

btw, the answer is 1/6 hour not 5/6, because they are asking how long it is stopped per hour

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

yea 10 min is given i read it
