An example of kinetic energy is a _____. -stretched rubber band -boulder perched on the edge of a cliff -compressed spring -car coming to a stop stumped here. stretched rubber band would be potential, the boulder would be potential, and a car coming to a stop would be movement, but the way it is described seems like it should not be correct. That leaves the spring, but the act of being compressed is not kinetic. I'm leaning towards the car, and kind of need some input from someone else :)

OpenStudy (photon336):

Hint: energy in motion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soooo the car

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

yes

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

the compressed spring is potential energy unlike the moving-kinetic energy in the car as it is stopping.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kinetic energy is energy in motion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, remember that the potential energy is of two types, gravitational and elastic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross out two of the options, and we are left with:- -car coming to a stop -boulder perched on the edge of a cliff
