OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay I'm gonna start over
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So the formula that you use I will post below
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[\frac{ 4 }{ 3 }(3.14)r ^{3}\]
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):

So as you probably know...... r is the radius, which is half the diameter. Since the diameter of the whole sphere is 18 the radius would be half of that, which is 9. If you plug 9 into the formula what do you get?
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
Outer Layer: 3052.08
Core: 14.13
OpenStudy (anonymous):
mmmmm..... Maybe but I don't think so....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Use the numbers from the picture you posted
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[3053.63-14.14=?\]

That's what I calculates at least.....
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
those numbers used the full pi, but the problem wants me to only use 3.14. I have had several times in the past with similar problems where i use pi instead of 3.14 and i get it wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@Loser66 Please help
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'm confused by what you said....
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
The problem says use 3.14 to approximate. If I use the full \[\pi\] it wouldn't be the same as what the system has stored as the answer

Oh wait nvm I get it
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
because 1.5 times pi is 14.14 but 1.5 times 3.14 is 14.13
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you're correct..... let me recalculate
OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3052.08-14.13=?????

OpenStudy (isuckatschool43):
