FAN & MEDAL PLEASE HELP! :)

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

The diameter of a circle is 20 feet. Using the formula A = (pi) r^2, what is the area of the circle? Use 3.14 for pi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know the relation between diameter and radius?

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

Yes but No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the radius is half the diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so half of 20 is 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then plug 10 into that equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

I still don't get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you plug 10 in, you get 314

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

So is 314 my answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u r using 3.14 exactly, yes

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

Ok thanks so much...Is there a way I can fan both of you guys?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Diameter is the whole way across the circle. From the center to the edge, is the radius. So two radii (the plural of radius) are in a diameter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np, don't worry about it.

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

I medaled you but I will fan both of you thx so much..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur welcome, anytime, and thank u

OpenStudy (adelyn_helps):

Can yall check one thing for me please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
