Would you like a direct answer?
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So in the lower region, it is 45, 51, 52, and 58. Now you find the median.

47?
OpenStudy (mathmale):
@Plaguex: Please show how you obtained 47.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay. I'm not allowed to provide direct answers apparently, but look at the lower half and the higher half. Find the median for your two halves. Than subtract the higher one from the lower one.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
And no. 47 is not it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oops im sorry im back

Okay so you split the higher half from the lower half, the higher half has a median of 23? and the lower has 35?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay, first quartile is (16+20)/2 and the other is (32+36)/2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Then subtract them both to find the range.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
16

Although people do learn to work directly from data tables such as the one given, writing out the data set may make this problem easier to grasp.
45 51 52 58 61 63 66 72 74
Where is the data set you're discussing now?
Perhaps it'd help if one or both of you were to write out the actual data set for easier reference.
@Plaguex : Please show how you obtained each "answer" that you want verified.
