OpenStudy (yumyum247):

Describe the relationship between mutations, genetic variation, natural selection and evolution. Your description should include what a mutation is, which type of cells mutations must occur in to increase ne==genetic variation, and how variation is required for natural selection.

OpenStudy (rushwr):

hmm this is a lot nah ! HOld up I'll quickly have some food and come

OpenStudy (zairahernandez):

Survival of the fittest

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

i appreciate your help @ZairaHernandez

OpenStudy (rushwr):

okai sorry for being late... hmm let's start writting then

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

what do they all relate to?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

hold on

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Mutations are the changes in the genetic material, DNA of an organism . Mutation occured in genes can be transmitted to the future generations but mutations occur in somatic cell cannot be inherited to the future generation. Mutations causes variation. Mutations are the major source of genetic variation. Mutation effect the normal functioning of an organism. This may cause various effects. Both harmful , lethal or useful effects. The useful mutations become very advantageous during the struggle of existence. These characteristics ( mutated or not) Are subjected to natural selection, where advantageous or more surviving favored characteristics are chosen. Natural selection works on genetic variation within a population and leads to evolution by selecting the favored/ advantageous characters out. :)

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Just add to the natural selection - Mention that advantageous characters are survived while harmful ones are eliminated.

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

but what's common in all 4 of those??? or what are they working together to do...like what's their purpose?!?!?!?

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

in general

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

better fitness?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

No they are working just to reach evolution

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

okay....thanks beautiful, really appreciated your help!!! :") much love!!!

OpenStudy (rushwr):

hahaahahah no problem bubs :)
